Nom Fwige is a short film that I made with my friend Pierre Deschamps.

It features Kalinago husband and wife, Israel and Victoria Joseph. Descendants of the Caribbean region’s first people, they live in the Kalinago Territory on the island of Dominica.

The film, shot in a single day, is a glimpse into their life in the here and now; living a hand-to-mouth existence, making crafts to sell, catching crabs from the river to cook and eat.
